Segmax Oil Nigeria Limited has received the Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) certificate from the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), in recognition of its adherence to national standards in lubricant production.
The certification, presented at the company’s Ilorin office, marks a significant milestone for Segmax Oil in its drive to enhance quality and consumer confidence.
Speaking on behalf of SON Director General, Dr Ifeanyi Okeke, the Kwara State Coordinator of SON, Mr Ayeni Feyisayo, applauded the company’s dedication to quality, teamwork, and innovation.
He described the certification as not just a recognition but a legacy that will stand the test of time.
“You have established a legacy of supreme products, a legacy of quality that will never fade out of the market. This achievement is not just about today—it’s about the future of Nigerian-made products and the standards we want them to represent,” Ayeni said.
He added that SON remains committed to supporting manufacturers who prioritize excellence, encouraging Segmax Oil to remain at the forefront of innovation in the industry.
Dolapo Mariam Motunrayo, Head of the Chemical Technology Unit at SON’s Kwara office, emphasized that while the certification is a major step, continuous compliance and stricter monitoring will follow.
“All Segmax lubricants certified today now carry our logo, which speaks to their credibility in the market. However, this is not the end. Monitoring will intensify, and by 2028, a renewal will be required. We also encourage you to seek test certifications for other products,” she stated.
Chairman of Segmax Oil, Engr. Jesuwumi Oluwasegun Mathew, and Managing Director, Mrs. Jesuwumi OluwaFunmilayo Florence, expressed gratitude for the recognition and the support SON provided throughout the certification process.
